This week on Modern Notebook, Tyler Kline shares music by Missy Mazzoli performed by violinist Jennifer Koh; Unsuk Chin’s Rocaná, which is Sanskrit for “Room of Light;” and a guitar concerto by composer Tan Dun, inspired by both Spanish flamenco music and Chinese pipa music. Plus, music by Gabriela Lena Frank, Magnus Lindberg, and David Lang, with performances by Eighth Blackbird, Crash Ensemble, Unheard-of//Ensemble, and more.
