Throughout the Olympics, WSMR will share music from Italy and other countries and winter games past and present.

It feels like music has always been a part of the Winter Olympics.

For instance, ice skaters and dancers have demonstrated their technical skills and artistry to the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Émile Waldteufel and others over the years.

And if you were around when the British dancing pair Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean ruled the ice, you'll probably never forget their routines - or their musical choices.

So, as the world comes together to celebrate the international camaraderie of the Olympics, Classical WSMR joins in the festivities. You can enjoy music from Olympic games past and present, including from this year’s host country, Italy, and selections gathered from around the world.

The Olympic Winter Games open on Friday, Feb. 6.
