Susan Giles Wantuck
HostI grew up in a radio household. My dad was a radio newsman, and he used to take me and my siblings to work at his station in Coral Gables. Hearing his voice on the radio was a comfort to me.
My childhood in sunny South Florida was spent listening to popular music, reading just about everything I could get my hands on and writing poetry. I always thought I wanted to be a dentist or a lawyer, but that wasn’t for me.
Music was a constant in my family, my dad and sister played brass instruments, my brothers played guitar and my mom played the piano. We also sang around the piano. I still love to sing.
Radio is the most intimate medium, and I’ve hosted News and Classical music for many years.
It’s an honor for you to welcome me into your home or car to share the ride and I will never take that for granted.

And along with her trio, “Amici” recently gave the world premiere of a new work she commissioned about the city of Tarpon Springs from Composer Kimberly Osberg. It’s based on Still’s Florida paintings.
